Per Type Certificate Data Sheet No. A-787, the standard engine for the Model 415-D is the C-75-12 or -12F. The C-85-12 or 12F is an option.
Whether or not the coupe you have is a "true 415D" depends upon whether its paperwork documents are in full compliance with Ercoupe Information Letter No. 1 dated Jan. 1, 1956, and NOTE 3 of Aircraft Specification No, A-718 with appropriate signoffs by properly authorized persons.
