Wheels pants that is. We're nearing the completion of N3538H's annual and I am contemplating keeping the wheel pants off to see if there's a difference; I'd bought the coupe with them on. Having them on makes it a pain to get to the wheels' valve stem and I question the benefits in aerodynamics they yield and the added weight. The problem is the landing and taxi lights are molded into the strut covering that the wheel pants slide into. I'd like to keep the lights in place, but that'll leave a not very smooth transition between the strut and the rest of the landing gear. Has anyone ever flown a coupe with half the coverings off like that? Except for ggod looks, is there any added benefit to having wheel pants to begin with?
