Hi Tommy,
Per the Delco-Remy Aircraft Electrical Equipment Operator's Manual, DDR-5057, p. 11 shows the tube installed approximately midway between the two terminals.
It then states "The blast tube is connected to a source which will provide adequate generator ventilation during flight".
While Erco did not connect the blast tube to anything, for longest generator service life I would put a 1" hole and flange in the back of the back (vertical) cylinder plenum baffle and a 1" hose therefrom connecting to this blast tube.
I'll leave it to those who know whether such a "modification" is major or minor (337 or log book entry?).
