I forgot to mention. The reason I discovered the wrong voltage regulator
was I was having trouble starting my coupe, it turned over very slowly. I
spent a lot of time troubleshooting the charging system since the abttery
was only two yeras old. Turns out the battery needed replacing. Aircraft
batteries do not have a long life.

Before spending $100's upgrading to an alternator you may want to replace
the battery. A G35 will fit in the space of the old 25 amp and give you
more starting current.

that the generator isn't very effective at charging the battery at low
engine speeds. Is there an alternator available? Is there a solid-state
product to assist in charging at low speeds? Is this problem more
complicated than it looks?
