Tommy,
The aft mount hole on the elevator bracket is for the pushrod.  The forward hole is where the original elevator trim spring/cable assembly would attach.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Elevator control connection

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----

This is another “which way does it go” question.

During this annual that is beginning to look like it will take a year, we have found yet another thing we are not sure of.  The bracket/arm on the bottom of the elevator that the control rod connects to has two holes in it.  When we took the tail assembly off of the airplane we noted that the rod was connected to the forward most hole.  As we are preparing to re-install, I have noticed that the rear hole has a bushing in it and the front does not.  I have consulted the service manual and the illustrated parts book with nothing definitive.  One of the photos in the parts book looks like the control rod goes to the back hole and a cable that I assume is an old style trim control hooks into the front.  Can any one verify this?   Thanks
