It'll peel off with a bit of help.  A hair dryer to heat it up and some
MEK
to soften the adhesive.  Get some plastic scrapers and just work it.  BTW,
let us know how you do with the wing walk paint.  I personally like the
sticky stuff.  It's nice and even.
