Still, I've searched the regs and found NO requirement for a vacuum pump. Others have done the same. I've SEEN IFR certified Ercoupes using Venturi systems for vacuum. Don't go by my, or even an FAA wienie's opinion - insist on seeing any such restriction in the regulations. 1. Better stay out of icing conditions. 2. You've always got to have an alternate system, i.e. electrical, anyway.
