Eventually, I found it impossible to get correct performance from the old style regulator.  I found a good electronic replacement rated at 12 amps.  I think it is certified for the C120, but not the coupe.  My guy says it's no problem to get approval for this installation.  I'll give more details if you want.  I think it is Ziftronics, purchased from Aerotech in Louisville for about $144.  I've been happy.

You can get the same thing rated at other currents.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Voltage Regulator

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----

I have been having what I consider overcharging with my Voltage Regulator: (Delco-Remy No. 1118-259)     (Ercoupe No. 415-53016-15).  After the annual which included a lot of cleaning in the center section area, the rate of charge appears to run 15 amps.  This is with a new fully charged battery.  I really hate to cook a new battery.  Anybody have any suggestions?
