Does the bottom hinge, too?  I say one modification where the window hinged up and the "door" hinged down for easy access for a handicapped pilot.

I have a 1947 C-D Ercoupe.  It has gull wing style side windows/doors that are hinged at the tip rather than the slide up and down ones that other coupes have.   does anyone out there have a similar set up or know anything about them?
