Hi All....
On the subject of chocks and tow bars, I bought a
pair of chocks while deployed to MCAS Miramar at the local Wall Mart in the
Automotive section. Total cost about $4.00. ( I also found the large bottles of
Marvel Mystery Oil there As well for about $2.50 a bottle.)
I got tired of waiting for the local airport
technical guru ( who broke the stops on my control collum by turning too tightly
while towing the Coupe to it's spot on the line) to make me a tow bar (I was
going to pay a good price too) so I made one myself out of galvanized electrical
conduit, a couple of old sockets and some scrap sheet aluminum.
It's actually more of a steering bar, but in a
pinch it could be modified to actually hook onto a car and tow a
coupe.
Kicker is, its totally collapsable, fits in my
baggage compartment and cost me about $8.00 CDN for the conduit, 2 hours
of working with my stepson, a few nuts ans bolts and a couple of
small cuts.
There you have it, about $20 bucks and you have
both.
I any one is interested I'll snap some pics of the
bar tomorrow and post them on the weekend with the specs.
Cheers
