Hi Bettina & Bob,
I've had a spin-on filter on my Coupe for about 20 years.  I do not increase the time between oil changes, due to the fact that neither the filter or the screen collects the acids that collect in the oil.  The filter does collect small particles that the screen does not catch, though, and I think it is worth the extra cost (about $27 per filter) to keep the engine running reliably.  Nice peace of mind, in my opinion.  The filter is a Champion Ch48108-1, by the way.

Hi All...

I recently saw an installation of a spin-on oil filter for a C-85 that fits on the housing where the oil cooler would go (Champion ?). I'm considering this installation to increase my time between oil changes and for better filtration.

Does anyone out there have this application and if so how does it stack up against the internal screen system. Would it be worth the cost? All comments welcome.

Cheers

Bettina & Bob
