Be sure you have the holes in the baffling sealed around the things that go thru it too.

What a great group of people !  Thanks to Lynn, Ed, Dspiegel, Craig and Wayne.  Took all your responses and started working thru them this morning.  I never would have thought that the gap around the carb air intake would contribute to the problem.  Sealed it and took the plane up and got a 13 degree drop in oil temp !  Put a permanent fix on and waiting for some sealant to dry, then I am going to restrict ( a little ) the air flow coming in at the base of the engine and see if that will increase the pressure differential between top and bottom of the engine and test that tomorrow.  Thanks again guys, I'm confident now that I can get temp down to normal ranges.  John Leonard
