I just had this discussion with the folks at Airtex and did mine last
night. You use the metal strip in the hem just like normal. The foam in the
loose pocket goes over the top of the seat back rail and wraps around to the
back of it. They recommend 3 screws through the fabric, metal strip, foam, and
into the back side of the seat rail. I found it easiest to drill the holes thru
the fabric and metal strip on a bench then refind the hole and drill into the
seat back rail while holding and cruching over the hole deal in the plane. I
also used some trim washers under the screw heads. I used # 6 3/4 in pan head
stainless steel sheet metal screws. I found putting in the center hole (or near
center) first the """"""easiest.""""" The quotes cause there ain't anyting easy
about this. Plan it for a cool evening. This is not a job for a hot humid day. I
also think it will look better with 5 screws than 3. I know others have done
this. Anything anyone else has to add to make this easier sure has my ear.

My old seatback was a mass of screws along the back and in connection with the front of the baggage compartment. If anyone has good info on how the new seatback should be installed I would appreciate learning how so as not to mess up the new seats.
