Hi Roger,
You have a "taper shaft" crank, as opposed to a "flanged shaft" crank; and you can remove the hub/flange assembly complete with prop.
Quoting from the Continental Overhaul Manual:
The tapered type shaft has a slot along the propeller hub taper for a square key to drive the steel hub used with it. The hub fits tightly on the taper and is retained by a tube nut, which is locked by a flat head pin. A snap ring in a hub groove acts as a hub puller. (Ignore the slotted oil plug-WRB)
My recollection of doing this (years ago): Remove the 1/16" dia. by 3/8" cotter pin from the 1/8" x 11/32" Flat Head (locking) Pin, and remove said pin. You can then loosen the prop hub retaining tube nut. This takes some effort, as it is torqued to 200-225 ft. lbs. Once loosened, continue to turn and the crankshaft threads force the nut forward into the propeller hub snap ring. From that point on, continued turning forces the prop hub forward off the crankshaft taper for easy removal.
When reassembling, don't confuse Continental's specified 200-220 in. lbs. prop hub bolts torque with the 200-225 ft. lbs. crankshaft hub nut torque. Also be aware that Continental torques are NOT DRY values, but values with oil on threads (except for studs).
