Percy is correct: If there were a "quota on questions", I would have been
excused long ago. Just remember, every time a question is asked and answered,
it is very possible that many people learned something and knowledge is the
main ingredient to keep these birds going for a lot more years.

1. I do not recommend gyro instruments in an Ercoupe, especially the
415-C. This plane is Sport Pilot eligible, which precludes instrument or even
near-IMC work.
2. The Eismann mags I had did not interfere with the radio. Do you have
the shielded spark harness?
3. I found my `coupe baggage space sufficient to the stuff I hauled.
Without rudder peddles, the room is adequate. Packing closely will work.

There is No Quota on questions! Please feel free.

I am new to Ercoupes and love flying mine and want to learn more about them.
Mine is a 1946 415c, I have several questions:

1. I have always had a horizon gyro instrument and have an original Ercoupe
panel. Since there is no vacuum source I have looked at electric gyros but they
are very spendy and space is limited (mine has a transponder and an icom radio
both mounted under the panel). A bank indicator could help as well. Does
anyone have a suggestion for adding an instrument like this which would help in
marginal weather situations?

2. I am getting radio noise feedback in my headset but can transmit and can
hear OK. The noise goes away when I turn on left mag only. Is there a
suppressor on the mag (Eissman) that should be changed out? How do you go about
troubleshooting?

3. I also want to add the larger baggage compartment as the smaller one in the
plane is in need of repair and is too small. I know that Airtex carries them
but how much of a job are they to put in?

I have more questions but feel this is more than my quota for now. I am
reading all of the tech emails which are great and have gotten all of the techy
books to read. Thanks in advance for your responses
