Hi Allen et all...

One of the chaps at our small airport preped his aircraft and then went downtown and talked to one of the painters at the local autobody shop. He "rented" the services of  the painter and his equipment on his off hours. He also bought the paint from the company direct as well. Although he had a hanger perhaps you could find someone who could "rent" one to you for a few days. He used vinyl graphics for the registration and details. He allso used a basecoat/clearcoat on his aircraft and it looks great.

I had contemplated taking the wings off my coupe and trailering it all downtown (about 10 kms) to the local auto refinisher for a spray after I had her prepped. Fortunately most of the painters in my town are ex Air Force and know how to refinish an aircraft. Big problem with auto body places prepping an aircraft is that they are sometimes too agressive in the prep and end up shaving the heads off rivits thus making the aircraft unairworthy. Best to prep yourself and let them spray.

I recently used Endura with an epoxy primer  on my nosebowl and cowls and I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Hope this gives you some help.

Cheers
