About 8 yrs ago I had a chromed prop on my 415 -C. Took it to a prop shop for reconditioning and they would not do it unless they removed the chrome. They said it was a bad idea to have the chrome plating because it would hide impending cracks and other defects. After removing the chrome they 'squared' the tips and re-pitched it to specs.
