----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----
I just bought an Alon with a 7150 prop. It
was claimed to have a "climb prop". From what I read this installed
7150 is a "standard" prop, and a cruise is a 7153? My static RPM, as read
from a digital tach, appears to be only 2160 RPM right now (very low).
This leads me to believe my prop is different than a 7150 listed in
the logs since static is supposed to be between 2250 and 2375. It may be a
cruise prop. I checked the engine out, and everything appears to be
OK. The prop seems to be the only reason for the low static RPMs. I
need all the climb power I can get.
First, can anybody tell me the correct static RPM
for a 7150 on a C-90? I need to narrow down the range a bit from
2250-2375.
Second, has anybody put a 7148 or 7146 on a 90HP
Alon? What should the static RPM be with one of these props? It
appears my only restriction to repitch is the 71" length, and the static
RPM no more than 2375, right? No record of every being re-pitched
before.
