Chuck, I have a highly polished Ercoupe and I strongly recommend using Nuvite. Of course, knowing the correct process is just as important as knowing the correct polish. Ron Black, Ercoupe owner and Nuvite representative, is on this list and can tell you step-by-step how to polish bare metal. How about it, Ron? Also, wiping the dew and rain water off your airplane as soon as you can is very important to keep it looking good.

I am new to Coupes and have a polished one (actually needs more polishing) and some cleaning up of surface corrosion on the belly. I have had some advice from polished airplane owners to paint it because of the time involved to keep it looking good and others that encourage me to keep it polished. Peresonally, I like the polished look but haven't spent the time yet to keep it that way. A draw back that I have already experienced is not being able to fly it when it might get wet, and I live in the NW so it limits me a little. Question: what tool (s) do you recommend (including brand names) to do the polishing and what polish to use (I have already purchased a little Met All and Flitz). The current condition is just OK on most of the plane and as I mentioned the underside has a little paint left on it along with some surface corrosion. The underside of the wings were polished when the AD was done on the spar several years ago. Thank you for any advice you can share.
