Good posting...except: I strongly remember my Flight
instructor simulating fuel cut off, in practicing emergency procedures
in a USAF PA-18...... As valves CAN fail.....even tho they are FAA approved
devices....
So simulation was all we did, being sure the valve knob or valve didn't
fail in the closed position.
