You are correct with your assumption.
I am speaking for ERCO manufactured planes. As I understand have they all been delivered with the nose strut fairing installed, making a snubber cable very unlikely.

I assume you are NOT including FORNEY/ALON /MOONEY in that statement. The question remains unanswered. Recognizig that: (1) many Coupes of all varieties have snubber cables, and (2)at least some of these were factory installed -many were not. How can we account for no one out there knowing how this all came about? Why/when were these cables installed? What is the reference document ? I guess this is a "dead horse', nevertheless it is an intriguing matter.Thanks for your interesting and well-presented posts, Hartmut.
