This is a very difficult question to answer. I think a lot has to do
with the proficiency of the inspector. Here is a case where I think
you want to get the best guy you can to do it. He may charge more
but you may get a lot more for your money. If someone does a few
inspections, he'll probably get better and faster and cheaper at it,
so stick together... [Gender neutral "he"]
2. IF the inspection found something wrong, what would be the range of bad
findings one could expect, and what would be the range of costs to fix one
could expect?
Who knows. If the spar needs to be replaces, the sky's the limit
unless you can get a used center section. If it's just a couple of
rivets that need replacing, probably relatively cheap, although these
are big honkin' rivets we're talking about. Your average tin knocker
won't be equipped to drive them.
