Yes, it seems the server or, more
probably, the router, was down. I notified Tom and he got it fixed.
Here’s a touchstone: If you
are not getting messages from the lists, do these tests:
Try to visit http://ercoupers.com and http://ercoupe.org Both these
websites are hosted on the same server as the mail list. If the websites
are down, then you can count on it that the server is down for whatever reason.
If you CAN get to http://ercoupers.com but you’re still
not getting messages, then YOUR account may be messed up. This most often
happens due to bounced messages from a full mailbox or some Internet
glitch. This happens to me once or twice a year.
The first part of the check for this is:
can you get to http://ercoupers.com?
If you can, then go to the Web Page Archives and see if there are any messages
in the archive that you haven’t received – if so, then you need the
solution.
The solution is to unsubscribe (using the
e-mail account you used to subscribe) then resubscribe on the “click here
to become a member” page at http://ercoupers.com
(Note: this happens to me occasionally with the Coupe lists
and with my Yahoo groups, too.)
So, if you aren’t getting any
messages from the list, these checks should be your first move.
