If it is a 85 you are getting rebuilt you should look into the 0-200
crank and cylinder replacement won't cost you a great deal more and you will have a much better engine set up with more H/P. The 85 crank isn't that
great I know of three of them breaking. You will still have a so called
C-85 so it won't change your 415 class.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Going for the overhaul
Well, old N99340, after giving me 1 1/2 years of loyal service, is
going in for the overhaul this weekend. The mechanic says the
crankshaft end play is too loose, and I had a bit of a scare with an
odd noise last week, but he's pretty sure it's an accessory. I don't
want to have to worry about the impending rebuild, so I'm going to
get it out of the way.
I'm flying her up to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where the shop will pull
the engine and cart it over to Central Cylinder in Omaha. Since I'll
be traveling in Europe much of March, this is a good time for them to
be working on it.
They use Titan cylinders - any comments on those? Anyone have any
words of wisdom about rebuilds in general or Central Cylinder in
particular? My mechanic used to run Elliott Beechcraft up at OMA, and
he speaks very highly of these guys.
I'm going to have the prop overhauled at the same time.
