Richard,

I would take a look at the back of the mags to se if the P-lead(ground wire)
is connected. About a month ago the same thing happened to me. I found
that the crimped on ring that attaches the ground wire to the mag was old
and brittle and it broke off. Installed a new one and problem fixed.

Good luck.

Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Magneto Question

----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any
advice in this forum.]----

Guys,

A few weeks ago 904 developed a problem of not shutting off when the
magneto switch was turned off. It only has the problem when the
engine is hot. When it is cold the engine dies as soon as I turn it
off, but if I fly it for an half hour I must turn the fuel off and
wait for the carb to run out of fuel. I think this problem is only
affecting one mag, but not sure which one.

It still has its original magnetos. Any ideas? I have changed the switch.
