Jan- good luck on rest of SB32. The 3 or 4 coupers I fly around with are playing  A WAITING GAME,  to see if it becomes an AD. I haven't checked Sacramento area for ultrasonic insp. services. Some of us may be making the treek to Fresno someday. Ted

I took my UT box out to my coupe today and I pulled up the seats and did the center section that is accessible from the cockpit. That part has the most rivets- anyway I'm very HAPPY to say that I did not find any bad rivets at all. I am going to pull my wings this coming week and do the rest of them, but as far as I'm concerned that is probably the worst area because it's the lowest point of the center section. We'll see what the remainder of the inspection brings. That little 3 foot section took a little longer than an hour and a half. By the way, my center section is chromated, it would be interesting to find out how many are protected or not. I also ran the probe along the spar cap where it meets the web sheet and used it as a digital thickness checker. There was no indication of corrosion between the spar and the web sheet.

Those of you who are going to have this done make sure you brief your inspector about taking the time and effort (while being upside down) to allow for variations in the bucked rivets. I found there were many rivet heads that werent exactly flat, some were bucked off at an angle and this made it very frustrating. Each rivet needs more couplant added, and each rivet needs to have the probe carefully positioned so it's as flat as can be. I found that I couldnt get a reading on some at first, or some false readings until I spent a couple of minutes carefully manipulating the probe and then was able to get the reading. Those who had the inspection done and found one or two rivets bad, I wonder if they were really bad. How can one rivet out of 160 or more be bad and nothing else around it be affected.
