When I was learning to fly in 1969 in a 415G, my
sometimes instructor, who happened to be a cute
college girl, had me using the hood with the canopy
open. She told me to remove the hood. Instead of
allowing me to remove it, she reached up and yanked it
off my head and the wind caught it and it was gone.
Being the gentleman that I was I did not tell the
FBO/owner of the hood exactly who lost it. So, I got
the !%*!#&@ chewing. I guess it could have been worse,
as my eye glasses could have left with the hood. This
is why I don't fly with the canopy open. I would
rather bake!!!!
