I like your idea.

 

I’ve long thought that one of the first things a person should do when using a different plane is to get up safely high and test minimum flying speed / stall speed.  Because of CG, aircraft variations and airspeed indicator errors, it’s bound to be somewhat different in each plane.  I want to know that number.

 

During that process, it’d be good to determine the slowest-trim-speed to be sure it’s what I’d want in an emergency.

 

In my own plane, it’d be nice to adjust the trim tab (if allowed) so the slow-trim equals best range glide speed.
