Coupers, Awhile back I mentioned that my fine running c85-12 was using too much oil and the oil would turn black after 1.5 hrs.Since the #3 cyl. was topped a year ago, and had compression readings of 79/80. I decided to pull #1, #2 and #4 cylinders. # 2 had a stuck compression ring allowing blow-by.Since #1and #2 where .015 over and I had access to two std. cylinders I used them instead. After measuring the barrels we used +5 rings. The IA signed off, and hope to fly it this week. What is interesting is that the compression readings on the replaced cylinders showed consistent readings in the mid 70's over 80 with a warm engine. Sooooo, I guess they are only good to indicate a trend. A will let you all know how the test fright turns out. Dick L. 3041H
