Eliacim,

The cockpit ventilation snap vents are 2 ", not 2 1/2".. These vents are installed in the lower rear corner of your windshield on both sides; perhaps 4" - 5 " forward on a diagonal from the lower aft corner(s).  Just make sure they are both located identically, i.e., measure the location you want, put a piece of masking tape there, mark the center of the hole you are going to cut, drill a very small hole through the plexiglass (this is to guide the circular saw while it is cutting the 2 ' hole). You can buy a set of 3 or 4 circular saws , including a 2 " one, from Harbor Freight for less than $5 . Each saw fits a standard drill and has a small drill bit in the center. Make sure your masking tape is wide enough to cover the 2 " hole while you are cutting it. Use a fairly slow drill speed and make sure your drill is perpendicular. Spray some silicone or WD 40 on the saw  to make sure it is cool enough NOT to melt the plexiglass. The edges of the hole should be sanded by hand to remove any burrs. Then, simply "snap in" the vents from outside (they are a soft, bendable clear plastic). That's all there is to it! You can easily rotate the vents from inside (they are held in place with an almost invisible stainless steel spring wire). Forward is OPEN, down is CLOSED, rear is VENT. I love mine and use them continually while taxiing and in flight. CAUTION: I "ain't" a mechanic ! If you screw up the installation, you get to keep all the pieces! Also, my bird is an ALON, Your Ercoupe may be different (ask john Cooper).

John Cooper sells these for $8.51/pair (maybe a little more now), PN A2-100. SPRUCE shows them on pg 190 of their current catalog, @ $8.85/pr.  BTW, I tried to attach a photo; no luck as usual.

Good Luck,

Don Bowen
