A while back, when some of the list members had been pounced upon for what
was determined to be "off topic" posts, I posted an observation that I had
made. I offer parts of that observation again, with some current thoughts
inserted:
"A little tolerance and patience, combined with some discretion will bring
this list back to the dignified level of discussion that it occupied not so
long ago."
After pleading for tolerance and patience, I hesitated to make this
post. However, fires should be put out immediately, not left to grow at
their own will until out of control.
"I cannot find an instance of the people who regularly actually answer
questions and regularly provide factual information to the members of this
list, attacking another member for an off topic post. There have been
suggestions of taking a prolonged dialogue off of the list."
Some of those contributors are no longer posting or posting very
little and I seriously doubt one of them is even reading the list
anymore. Ed, Hartmut, Paul, William; some of us, I venture to say the
majority of us appreciate your input.
"Likewise, I have yet to find any substantial contribution to the list by
those who seem to be the self appointed topic police, and are sitting like
Big Brother, watching, and waiting to pounce on someone for a post that they
personally do not agree with."
Do I really need to point out who you are?
Ralph, you want a moderator on this list? I propose that what you
actually want is a sensor; a sensor that is programmed to your liking.
How about contributing something substantial to this group, or
answering some newbie's request for basic information, before professing
to know what is best for the group.

I will close this post exactly the same as the last post concerning this
subject. "I know the flak is coming, so bring it on. I will calmly and
politely discuss almost anyone's thoughts; just remember, I have a delete
button and I know how to use it."

Every once and a while we receive a message from a Nazi participant.
Obviously, you don't know the function of the DELETE button.
Comments like yours have caused several worth while people
to stop participation. Overall it is a loss to the community.
It is a forum for aviation. If you are so concerned, so judgemental,,
so impatient, so particular just sign off and don't come back on.
If you choose to stay on, then learn to have some patience
and how to use the delete button.
