Hey Larry: Use an OHM meter, with the switch off, all three posts should be
connected together. In the first position (right of off) only two should
be connected, and the same for the next position. In the far right position,
none should be connected together.
Obviously, the pole that connects to the other two
in each of the two middle positions is the ground pole. The one that connects in
the first position is the Right mag and the second position is the Left. (when
you are turning from both towards off, the first magneto you check is the
right)
