Google is a good way to search.

I used the phrase:

ercoupe water site:ntsb.gov
(as a link: http://www.google.com/search?q=ercoupe+water+site:NTSB.gov)

and got this one:

http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=6515&key=0

Note: using the keyword "site:" limits the search to a domain.

The write up by the U S Navy pilot who ditched his Coupe in Caribbean waters in 1952 was interesting and informative. Nevertheless, that was 54 years ago ! Surely, there have been additional Coupe "water landings" since then. Do any of you know how to search NTSB records for such mishaps? I tried to do so under "engine failure" and got a lot of (1) fuel starvation (2) maintenance error (3) pilot error, e.g., pulled mixture control instead of carb heat  - but nothing specifically about dtching.
I think many of us would like to have more info on this subject.
