WD40 works great on the fuselage of my coupe, but I don't think I'd want to try it on the fabric wings.
 
I did just get a response from the Poly-Fiber folks...
 
Hi Jason.  Your approach is a good one.
We recommend our 310 Cleaner diluted,
but in lieu of that reduced liquid dish soap
is good.

In the book I have "Extraordinary uses for ordinary things"
 
One of the uses for WD40
Is to spray WD40 on the car grille and hood before going for a drive and most of the critters will slide right off. The few bugs that are left will be easy to wipe off later without damaging your car's finish.
 
If it works on the car it should work on your wings.
