Regardless of whether or not this is the case, the C90/O200 crank is
an entirely different animal. IIRC, the C85 crank is cast while the
C90 crank is forged and nitrided.
WRT the original question, aircraft cranks are made a lot lighter
than automotive cranks, hollow journals and all that. Structurally
they are a lot closer to the ragged edge. Additionally, the
machining of journals is different from the majority of automotive
cranks. I'd be very leery of any crank that has been modified using
non-approved techniques. Personally, I wouldn't use it, unless maybe
it was going into an air boat.
