Anyone,
I guess this question has already been asked. Probably a few time. And I think I already know the answer.
Will a 4 inch venturi operate a Directional Gyro and a Artificial Horizon. Does anyone with a non-mechanical vacuum pump and a 75 Hp engine have both DG and AH? Thanks all. I can't afford an electric DG.

Ed,
I used the 9" trombone from Aircraft Goose and dutifully used a regulator as instructed (talked with mfgr,) - turns out that all the plumbing made the regulator possibly unnecessary because of all the losses - suggest you talk w/ Rapco engineer before (instead of after in my case - as usual) - anyway, the system is working, and at high speed (e.g. 120) I get 4" (got a gauge from ebay). Got my DG & AI from RC Allen (Kelly Mfg.) for $400, factory rebuilt to just like new (really!) - ask for Shirley. Gyros work well, even at cruise w/ 3" - 3/1/5" vacuum, 'cause Shirley got me good stuff. Yeah, that's right: at the end of the line, that little vacuum left despite the venturi mfgr. claiming 9" at 50-60 mph - again, talk w/ Rapco engineer about how those snazzy An fittings will cost you suck.
Or, to respond to your question in a work, NO.
