"Has anybody ever went from the bubble back to the flat?  What all is involved in this?"

Yes. We did. All you need is the frame cover that goes over the window frame. It was around 120 bucks or so from Univair 5 years ago.
The cover needs to be riveted onto the frame, the flat window fit, holes drilled - screws in - done.

The first flat did not fit, had to be trimmed, was put in under tension, cracked. The mechanics got it right with the second one.

Seems like that the bubble is easier to install - if they only would make a bubble shield that would not protrude so much.

The original bubble shield appears way flatter than they do them these days....

Hi Joe can't say that I can help you much.  Although I can say I've never found a window yet that didn't need trimmed.  As you probably know, a cut off wheel in a die grinder makes it nearly painless.  Has anybody ever went from the bubble back to the flat?  What all is involved in this?

Well I may have learned a lesson yesterday, We purchased a flat windshield
from Great Lakes Aero last week and tried to install it during the weekend,
What a mess, we had to trim off one and three quarters of an inch from the top and sides just to make it start to fit. It was way to big. We got it installed but the last screw hole caused it to crack so now we will decide what to do next.
We purchased the W/S from them because of the cheaper price mabey that was a bad idea? My last coupe we put in a bubble W/S and it was no problem. But I like the flat W/S look better plus we are trying to keep it original. I should probably have called John at skyport before buying from Great Lakes. I don't Know!
Question can anyone give me advice on where to purchase a flat W/S that may fit better and not need so much trimmed off. If not then I guess I will call John at Skyport and get the bubble W/S and installation kit, which is where I purchased my last bubble W/S for my earlier coupe. Oh we know why it cracked still not enough trimmed off.
thanks
