I can appreciate what you say. Except for buying a newly overhauled engine, everything else is a wild card. Could turn out great, but most likely could be plagued with problems...

Misprint,  I highly recommend overhauling your engine, unless it
measures out as junk.  It's better to know what you have than what
you might get,  even if it may be cheaper to buy another engine.
