I measured my '65 ALON today. My hinge flat portion measured  36" X 1.75 " (7/8" on each side of pin). It looks like you should order the UNIVAIR size 35 7/8" long X 1 3/32" wide (assuming that is on each side of pin). However, it would be a good idea to get on your bicycle and pedal to your twin-tail MOONEY to measure it yourself. For sure, it isn't 72 " long.  Don

Fellow Coupers, I need to buy a new hinge for the left side cowl door on my A2-A. This is the
long hinge that connects the side sheet/door to the top cowl piece. Univair catalog lists 3 sizes
1-3/32 inches wide by 35-7/8 inches long,  1-1/2 inches wide by 33-  1/4 inches long
and 1-1/2 inches wide by 72 inches long.

Before I drive 18 miles on $3.00 gas to measure the hinge, can anyone tell me how to
measure the width? Do I measure the part that the rod or wire goes through to join the
hinge pieces, along with the flat portion or just the flat portion to get the width?

Or, better yet does anyone know which hinge I should order. I won a Univair gift card
at the EOC Convention and want to use it.

I ask this here because sometimes the order takers at Univair, are just that,
and can't answer my questions. Thanks

Scott
