Roger, I have disassembled and reassembled several MLG adn also found that reinstalling the snap ring that holds it all together is quite difficult. I have had success by getting one end of the snap ring secured in the slot, holding it there with a screwdriver, then from the other hole, forcing the ring in the slot little by little till it is almost all in, then from the top hole forcing the ring the rest of the way in the slot. The difficulty is keeping the initial part of the ring in the slot while one is forcing the remainder in the slot. It takes patience and preseverence.
