Hi All...

Up here in the Great White North, it gets pretty darn cold in the winter and difficult to get the oil up to the 180 degrees as has been previously suggested. One thought that has been suggested to me, along with going with a lighter weight oil is to put a blanket around my oil filter. (and probably around my oil tank) I already run with a blanking plate on the cooling air intake during the winter months and preheat until the oil is 40 digrees.

Question has anyone ever done this?

Also, If I put a full size spinner (10 ") on the prop, how much would this cut down on the amount of cooling air getting to the engine compartment?

Any ideas?

Cheers

BobP
