Hey ED: I think you are basically right. However, RPM has the biggest
influence on fuel burn.
So if you can fly at the same speed with a lower RPM (i.e. a 75 HP with a
longer prop) you will have a lower fuel burn. There will be minor differences in
the same engine/propeller combinations, but in general the same type engines at
the same RPM should burn the same amount of fuel.
