Hi Mike,
Congratulations on the new Alon!
Assuming that the wiring on your plane has not been modified somewhere along the way, the battery (+) on the Alon is connected directly to the master switch. The other end of the cable that you see on the + side of the battery is located on the master switch. There is no battery contactor like many other planes have.
Per the original Alon wiring diagram, the only thing that should be connected to the battery with the master switch turned off is the aircraft clock. You might try disconnecting the clock and see if that 200ma disappears. Most of the old style clocks that came in these airplanes just had an electrical contact in them that would momentarily close to "wind the clock" and as soon as the contact closed it would reopen and stay open while the clock spring ran back down. Therefore, the current draw in the battery would just be short pulses of current, spaced many seconds apart. If your clock has been replaced by another type, maybe it is drawing current continually and is drawing more than it should.
I would first disconnect the clock and see if the current draw goes away. If not, I would climb under the panel and see if someone has connected some other wires to the lug on the master switch that has the battery cable connected to it. Maybe something like panel lights or radio lighting has been connected.
Another possibility is that the master switch itself could be dirty or going bad internally and if there is enough dirt or corrosion in it, it may be partially shorted across the contacts, thereby allowing current to flow. The master switch on these airplanes has to handle the full starting current of the starter, so it sees a lot of stress. A friend of mine had the master switch in his Alon go up in smoke while he was in flight because the switch went bad.
I have a good electrical diagram of my particular Alon that I would be happy to scan and send to you if you think that it would help. My serial number is A-218, which is just a few planes after yours, so the factory wiring should be similar. Just let me know if you want it.
