Thanks for letting out this info, although that C model may be sound,an inspection should be made by a qualified inspector with that in mind. Acrobatics should NOT be done in a Ercoupe type aircraft regardless of the pilots qualifications.. To do so only proves poor judgment and disregard for aviation as a whole, let alone your life an limb, an loved ones. Dick L.

On the subject of safety, I write this email.  I recently looked at a C model for sale.  The owner volunteered that he was an aerobatic instructor (retired) which he taught in Citabrias.  He want on to say that while not certified, he regularly did loops, rolls and other aerobatics maneuvers in his Coupe and it performed them well.  Last night I read an article in Aviation Safety magazine about metal.  You can stress it a over and over again without any visible evidence but every time you do it, it gets weaker and weaker.  This Ercoupe is an accident waiting to happen, in my opinion.  If that happens, it is another step in all our coffins with regard to an AD for our Ercoupes, not just a SB (SB32).  I will not share the name or N number of this aircraft on this forum, but feel free to call me before you purchase a C model from Utah.
