Al, et
al:
Interesting thoughts. I also belong to the Aeronca email list, as
we have a Champ.
Both
clubs have what can be considered to be similar issues - old, fairly simple
airplanes, few in number, flown by pilots (and I have to be frank here) who are
often pinching every penny to maintain aircraft ownership.
These
two clubs aren't the Cessna Pilots Assoc., the American Bonanza Society, or the
International Comanche Society, all of which I've belonged to at some point in
my flying life.
Too
few Coupes and Champs to support clubs of that caliber, and attract the
full-time, well paid staff those kinds of clubs can support.

Strong management can revitalize the rank and file into a useful and powerful medium, regardless of the numbers. Unless we old farts start thing progressively and commit to changing the ways of the last 15 years, it ain't going to be worth it. (Said "we" instead of "those" because I didn't want to hurt the few that really do care and try their best, which is another issue.)Yea, you guys can quote me again.Al----- Original Message -----From: Jerry EichenbergerTo: E T Petrie ; Coupers TechSent: Friday, October 27, 2006 9:59 AMSubject: RE: [COUPERS-TECH] Organization???----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----Answer is probably:How many thousands, maybe tens of thousands of Cessna are there? How many Coupes?Jerry E.-----Original Message-----The following appeared in AvWeb Flash today. If Cessna Flyer Association can do it, why can't a "Coupe Group"?
