Okay gang, I've finally buckled down and got things
moving on the swap page this morning. Since I'm not a geek, guru or gamer
I'll need to outsource everything that's done, so I hope this isn't another
aviation bath I'm going to take while swimming in the ercoupe waters.
I figure it'll be about $500 to me to get it up and running, another $150 a year
to keep it going. It'll be text only at first and probably stay that
way, we'll see. The site will be hosted by a reputable company, probably
the same one who does my company hosting and email. I'll let everyone know
when it's up there and will encourage people to list their surplus Ercoupe stuff
up for sale as well as needs and desires. I don't want to pollute the list
with Cessna, Aeronca, Taylor or other trash, I want it to be our own little
shack where we can find twin tail stuff. I'll be the "moderator", so
inappropriate postings, (such as my own beliefs about some type clubs),
beginnings of discussions and the like will be verboten. I'm not
getting involved in the policing of the deals made, so use your own discretion
when doing business over the internet.
I've procured the web address of www.ercoupeowners.com for a number of
years (no need to dial it in, it's not up yet) and the swap page will be listed
under that, probably ***/swappage.html or something similar that
works. The service will be free for individuals and a very slight charge
will apply for commercial postings, except for those companies who
have consistently given of themselves to the Ercoupe community like Skyport
(if he desires). There will be a Paypal box for donations for those
individuals who recognize its importance.
Any and all comments are welcome OFF LIST, OFF
LIST, OFF LIST and it's important to realize that the service will be for
Ercoupers by Ercoupers in order to keep all Ercoupers and their machine flying
safely and economically.
