Hi Bob, I live on a 3200 foot grass strip. Trees at both ends. No problem in the Alon except on a 95 degree day at gross weight and no wind, the trees aren't cleared by too much. Never been too much of a problem though. I use to live on a 2600 foot grass strip with trees on one end. That was usually no problem either, but a few times I decided not to launch, or only went solo because of concerns about clearing the trees. I'd say I'd be comfortable operating out of 2500 feet on a regular basis. Anything shorter, and you might be getting marginal depending on temps and weights. Of course on a nice cold day with a nice headwind, I can clear the trees at the current strip by about 1000 feet. Temperature and weight make a huge difference.
