Dan, et. al.,
AGREED! I wouldn't want to have to check e-mail on more than one service
manually.
(Actually, Outlook checks e-mail on three different services for me once a
minute. From my point of view, the mail just pops into the inbox and most
forum stuff gets chucked into a folder by my rules and I get a ding-dong.
No pain.)
But, here's how to set Yahoo to use any e-mail address you choose:
1. Go to the forum website - either
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ercoupe-tech
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ercoupe-flyin
Somewhere along this path, Yahoo will ask for your signin name and password
to be sure you are authorized to make changes to the account.
2. Just above the big dark bar, in about the center of the page, you'll see
a link called <Edit Membership>. Click on that.
3. Scroll down to the middle of the page where it has a section called
"Email Address."
4. If the e-mail address you want to use is already listed, check the
bullet-mark by it then click the <Save Changes> button at the bottom of the
page and you're done.
5. If the e-mail address you want to use is not listed yet, click on the
link that says <Add new email address>.
6. Type in the new e-mail address and click the <Continue> button. There
are some simple confirmation steps listed on the next page - just follow
them and you're done.
I didn't follow the final steps because I couldn't add a fictional address
for testing. It should be fairly easy but if you continue to have problems,
please let me know and I'll do detailed testing of the last part.
