Bernie, Thanks for posting those dimensions. Bill Coons, originator of the form 337 approval for the spacers later came up with a formula to calculate the actual needed thickness based on the amount of tail droop.
I'm looking to see if I can find a copy of the calculations he once sent me. As always, we do the maintenance first then see how low the tail is. The thickness of the spacer may vary from plane to plane depending on the nose tire, nose gear type and taxi spring thickness and strength, and main gear structure and tire type. You and a lot of us have lots of years of experience with the spacers and have found them to be effective. It is, also, worth exploring other methods of accomplishing the goal. The goal is in getting FAA approval for Paul (a guy who currently is having problems) and for anyone who, in the future, needs it.
