I installed the MLG spacers on my 415-c some years ago. I used a split bearing collar. These are available at bearing supply places. They have two Allen screws to couple the two halves of the collar. You can put these on without taking the gear strut apart- just jack the airplane off the ground, slip the split collar on and tighten the Allen screws.
